Shoot ‘Em Up

The Anti-James Bond![]()
This movie had SO many cool action/shoot out scenes. Clive Owen stars as a man who knows how to shoot and make the best use of a carrot. He’s a scruffy, but very handsome man who innocently stumbles upon a woman about to give birth. Some bad guys start shooting at the woman and he assists in birthing her child, all the while blowing away said bad guys. He protects the child from a really nasty head scumbag -playing against his usual, amiable and likable character type, by Paul Giamatti- and the body count climbs higher and higher. Clive enlists the help of a lactating prostitute ( the baby does need to eat ), and eventually a high ranking government/business consipracy is revealed. Lots of action, blood and great one-liners/puns. Oh, and the carrot bit…..take a, “stab” at what Clive uses it for….
Stargate SG-1

As a StarGate SG1 fan from day one, it was heartbreaking to see the series come to an end, but they couldn’t have ended on a higher note. This episode is absolutely wonderful – touching, exciting, and sad. I loved it. The effects are absolutely stunning. Full scale movie quality stuff. Best ever. Sniff!!
Leavin’

I absolutely love this new song from Jesse. I cannot wait to find out when he will release the other version of Leavin’ which stars Jesse Mccartney and Rich Berra from the “Johnjay and Rich Radio Show” playing only the guitar and Jesse singing… That Song is awesome.
American Gangster (Unrated)

This is a long movie but well worth it. Denzel and Russel provide great performances. Didn’t realize it was based on real people. Highly recommend this movie
Flight Of The Conchords

Love these guys. I will freely admit, it took me a few viewings before I “got” Flight of the Conchords on HBO. At first it just seemed weird and silly to me. Then, much like Monty Python, Bob Dylan, Woody Allen (geniuses I didn’t quite “get” at first), something clicked. Their humor is sarcastic, dry, witty, and sometimes surreal (see “Bowie”) but always inspired. Furthermore, after several listens you will appreciate how well-written and complex some of their songs are. Besides, this CD is worth the price for “Rhymeasouras versus Hiphoppopotomus” alone (sorry that I butchered the spellings there…forgive me…but the song cracks me up). These guys mimic all kinds of genres, but the one constant in all their songs is their goofy outlook on the world and their subtle, dry wit. Love it! Can’t wait for season 2! This CD will hopefully tide me over…hey guys, how about a full-length live album sometime? That would be sweet!

Usher is indeed coming back.
This song makes you think, “Welcome back.”
It’s catchy, it’ll be a hit in the club but it’s no 5-star song.
Believe that.
The beginning, “And I promise I’m gonna keep it comin’ all night lo o o o o o o o ong.” is the best part in the song.
But the song gets repetitive.
But the lyrics are fun.
It’s better than Yeah.
It’s extremely radio-friendly.
Good luck, Ush!

A Song That Grows As A Novelty![]()
First off, I gave this song 4-stars because nobody else has yet done so. But anyways, when I first heard this song in full, I wasn’t impressed, and the MacBook commercial seemed to get the best part of the song. I mean the song was original, different, and a throwback to who knows when, but it just wasn’t that impressive. Well, I am now sad to say, my opinion hasn’t changed much, however this is the type of song that grows on you. So at first you may hate it, then you’ll think it’s OK, then you’ll like it, then you might love it.
The song has a real novel quality, in that it’s a novelty. It’s not going to win Grammy’s, but it’s fun. I really started loving it when me and my family found ourselves singing along with the ‘la la la la’ part. However, the song is great for the first two minutes or so, then it starts falling apart, going off in weird and strange directions. So like most Peter Jackson movies, this song needed to go back to the editing room. Sure 2-minutes isn’t very long, but when your peak is a MacBook commercial, you can shorten the song a bit.
So overall, you might love it, you might hate it. It’s a strange and different song that may be far from perfect, but it has some very good elements to it. And that might just make the song worth buying…
